Swimming Lessons
Loudoun Mains is situated in a commanding position on the hills overlooking the lush green rolling pastures of the Irvine Valley. Loudoun Mains farm was originally the home farm of Loudoun Castle Estate with links going back many hundreds of years. Now it has been thoughtfully converted over a 20 year period into 15 luxurious self catering holiday cottages and an extremely well equipped Country Club with swimming pool, sauna and two gymnasia.
Lesson Times
Monday 10am to 1.30pm (Parent and Baby classes)
Monday 3.30pm to 6pm (Children swim classes)
Tuesday 4pm to 6.30pm (Children swim classes)
Wednesday 4pm to 6.30pm (Children swim classes)
Thursday 4pm to 6.30pm (Children swim classes)
Friday 10am to 1.30pm (Parent and Baby classes)
Friday 3.30pm to 6pm (Children swim classes)
Saturday 8am to 2pm (Children swim classes)
Sunday 9am to3pm (Children swim classes)
Traditionally Graded Lessons
Group lessons are offered from age 3 with a maximum of six pupils in each class and two teachers in the water providing a greater level of safety, tuition time and tailored instruction for each individual pupil. We grade our lessons from 1 to 5 and aim to lead our pupils from a beginner to a competent confident swimmer of excellent ability in alll situations.
Basic terms and conditions:
- The cost of each leswn is £11.5O, which is paid in advance (unless already paid for by standing order) with a 5% discount offered for two or more children.
- Since there is no minimum number of lessons that can be attended and since we offer you a permanent place, we ask for 2 weeks notice when you decide to stop.
- Unattended lessons need to be paid for, although we will try to offer you a place in another lesson if there is availability. If we cannot find a suitable slot, we will give you the opportunity to attend a family swim on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon within a fortnight of the missed lesson, with an extension to this timescale being made for two week summer holidays.
- If a child is unable to attend through a doctors recommendation then exceptions may apply and missed lessons may not need to be paid for. Where there is an extended period we will assess each case individually, however as a rule of thumb we will normally offer 4 x free lessons and a 5O% discount after that to keep the place.
- Children must be accompanied at alI times by a parent or guardian in all areas of Loudoun Mains including the club and grounds, with no children under the age of 16 permitted in the sauna or gymnasiuma at any times.
- During the Festive Period we stop the lessons for two weeks and these lessons are not charged for. If you a rejoining at any of these levels an assessment may be necessary.
Parent & Toddler Lessons
The aim of the parent and coddler swimming lessons is to have the child move towards going into the water on their own. We introduce the use of buoyancy aids, and try to get the children to think and listen for themselves, promoting social skills and pool safety. Swimming offers your toddler a unique sensory experience and develops confidence in the water that lasts a lifetime. as well as truly magical one-to-one time for you and your child. Taught in our lovely warm pool with a maximum of six children, our classes incorporate rhyme, music and movement based on extensive child development research. We also teach invaluable water-safety and personal survival skills in our classes which the children love practicing.

Our Parent and Baby classes can be your baby's first professional swim lesson and it will provide a great bonding experience for you and your chiId. We use a progressive adaptive lesson plan, meaning there are no long block sessions, just a com mittment to ensure that you get the best value for money and that you both get maximum enjoyment from each class. You can come for 1 lesson or 10, although most people once started stay for much longer than that. We ask for a weekly payment in advance or by standing order and if you miss a class we will try to give you an alternative lesson or even a complimentary family swim on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. That way you get best value for money and don't pay for something and get nothing back.
